  • that's crazy! i lived around there on 53rd and central (a few blocks down) when i was a kid. i still go over there from time to time :)

  • i wish i would have known this back in 2006 when i drove around south central.....but at least i found the location where they filmed the the movie training day...the scene where denzal gets shot in the ass.......i stood right in that spot....it was a hell of a rush.

  • As I first discovered jazz music in the late 60's, LA was considered one of the hot spots...like NYC and New Orleans...at least from the perspective of the west coast of Canada. Hell, wasn't Mingus born in LA..if that don't qualify the town as a jazz centre I dunno what would.
