  • @iceman250582 You´re right..GJJ really reaches some really nice stuff until Blue Belt. But almost 95% BJJ Schools around the world are SPORT BJJ. First class you learn point scoring stuff, "You can do this, you can´t do that..that´s legal , that isn´t " !! SUCKS! Been there...Now I just Roll in my garage with a purple belt and a Blue belt friends from previous BJJ academy, some rolls are with almost no rules, striking and Guard slams allowed .That´s real, not BJJ today :/

  • @iceman250582 I do Judo and BJJ...this Demo is pure marketing. but hey...the gracies are expert at it. Just look at Rorion gracie and his son´s...gracie mats...gracie cups..keepin´ it real LOLOL ! All Gracies are propaganda machines in some way. Nothing new in BJJ techniques, only on method and approach to training...position before submission. Hélio didn´t invent SH*T. There are old Kosen Judo tapes with ALL BJJ moves. Even the DLR, marketed as super new ultra modern guard LOL

  • @hmeboy Oh by the way....the predecessor and originator of modern MMA was Pankration, the first martial art known to man till this day... You can also google it if you don´t believe me ;) Cheers

  • @hmeboy Dude...I´m half Portuguese and half Brazilian.Don´t try to school me in BJJ and portuguese lessons LOL. I do Judo and some BJJ and I Know BJJ´s story. Vale Tudo/NHB fights also existed in Japan even before the Gracie family, what do you think Count Koma (Maeda, Dr. Jigoro kano´s student from Kodokan) was doing as a living when he ended in Brazil ?! He got nicknamed Mr. Impossible! Duhhhh...you can google it, go check...know real history, not gracie propaganda.

  • @BFerreira82, do you thiink that BJJ is trying to use the popularity of MMA to try to bolster the art? What the guys are *actually* doing when they shed the gis, is called "Vale Tudo", that's why they are wearing the Vale Tudo shorts; it's the predecessor to modern MMA. In Brazil, long before the UFC, BJJ players were fighting no rules fights against fighters of other styles and gyms. Know your history, because vale tudo is part of BJJ's history. Google if you don't believe me.

  • @BFerreira82 Obviously you have never trained BJJ or more specifically GJJ... The emphasis of the demo is not on the individual striking but rather on the guy defending. It is showcasing defensive takedowns to the strikes. This demo is 100% BJJ / GJJ! You act as if BJJ has 0 strikes? This is 100% untrue! Though most sport BJJ schools do not teach these techniques and some just plain do not know them anymore since they are illegal in BJJ competition.

  • CHRISTOPHE A TERASSE LE BLEU

  • ANOTHER BJJ demo with MMA.... LOL Not surprised. Someone who doesn´t know martial arts may think that BJJ is all that shown in the video. BJJ is a great sport....but MMA is what it is...a mix...BJJ is just a part of it...not the entire thing. Maybe some Muay Thai/ Sanda/ Karate/ Kempo/ Krav Maga schoolsshould now start putting some or more ground game on their demos also...to pass on the idea that they have a complete martial art, or combat / ring sport. It´s all about Hype...and publicity.
