Size isn't everything! Ann Leaf might have been small in size, but her contribution to the organ world was large. Spend some time in the company of the Mighty Mite of the WurliTzer organ.

  • What is the tune at 4:03? What organ is she playing? What album is it from? I love it on the theater organ, especially this performance. These are the ones that make you say, okay maybe I'll go for the pipes some day. Could this perfect tonality and blending be achieved on any virtual organ? I just can't imagine it, I'd have to hear it to believe it. For now I'll stick to my electronic theater organs ( or ETO's as they are called).

  • @paulj0557 @paulj0557 Tritle is Green Leaves of Summer. Organ details are in that sequence. LP taken from is the last one: the one with a yellow header title and a picture beneath. 11 tracks from those two LPs are now available on a CD from Pipe Organ Presentations (POP 125) or if you are in the UK from organ.co.uk

  • Very nice tribute, as all of your videos are. Ann was a national treasure, I had the giid ofrtune to hear her in concert a couple of times. She always stayed current with good pop music that could be performed on the organ "intact"--that is the song didn't lose its identity when played on the organ. She is the only organist I know of that played the Claude Bolling Suite for flute and jazz piano.

  • @56Packman. Happily I have all her recordings ( I think!) and your comments are so true.

  • I really enjoy your video's, good listening and informative. Thanks for posting!!!

  • @jkmek99 Thank you very much..that is my objective. It is all too easy to just show record sleeve(s) and play a track from it (them). To me that is pointless because it tells the viewer nothing about the artist. Am working on a few more so I hope you will continue to check from time to time.

  • WONDERFUL!

  • I have no idea why it was removed either. However, no big deal. Ann was always seemed to be a very nice person to me.

  • @521wurlitzer I have no idea why this comment was removed. Nothing offensive in the contents and I would have been happy to reply!

  • @gramrfone Keep it up, I'll check back for more!
