i would also like to say that pastor mark is one of my favorite teachers. he takes a lot of crap for being "hip and fresh," but its just who he is. hes a man who likes to laugh and chillax. i think its super cool to learn from someone so wise who can also laugh about things, like sex.
sorry, i think this video missed the little excerpt where pastor mark related that Areopagus is translated to english as "mars hill." the greeks didn't even really seem to have a reason for it. it was more of a religious thing. thats the foundation for this clip.
"Driscoll's New Calvinism underscores a curious fact: the doctrine of total human depravity has always had a funny way of emboldening, rather than humbling, it's adherents." Molly Worthen, NY Times.
its too bad that you have to quote other people to make yourself sound like you know what you are talking about. and as far as miss worthen is concerned, she obviously is missing the point. the doctrine of human depravity IS EMBOLDENING. it tells us that we suck. we get failtaculars all the time. but when we love Jesus he forgives us for being so human, and waits patiently until we will be brought together again.
