  • This brings back memories from when I was a kid. It's one of my earliest memories too.

  • @maxreger100 ....Hey i really appreciate that. Now my classical colection is complete thanks to you

  • The EXACT commercial I was looking for this morning! This played all the time when I was a kid in the 70s! Thanks!

  • @davidsegaldrums Yup! I grew up in the 70's & early 80's in New York & watched WPIX all the time. I searched for this to get a little piece of nostalgia.

  • OMG...this ran every day on television in Austin, TX...when I was younger. I've got his script memorized....how delightful to see it again!!!!

  • This commercial aired EVERYWHERE. It not only outlived John Williams but also outlived Vista Marketing, LPs, 8 track tapes, and cassettes! My favorite moment is when he clicks his tongue before saying, "Ah, it's a priceless collection." Thanks so much for posting!

  • @bjroberts65 That is the "Warsaw Concerto", which used to be semi-popular in a pops music sort of way. I've always thought it sounds like movie music.

  • JOHN WILLIAMS: 'I'm sure you recognise this lovely melody as STRANGER IN PARADISE. But, did you know that the original theme was from the Polovetzian Dance Number Two by Borodin? So many of the tunes of our well-known popular songs were actually written by the great masters - like these familiar themes...'

'And now, all of the best-loved melodies from the classics, have been gathered by Vista Marketing, into a big four-record collection. Yes, here are 120 of the greatest works....'

  • ANNOUNCER: 'Yes, now you can get one hundred and fifty of the world's greatest music masterpieces all for only $12.98. This collection is also available on 8-Track cartridges AND cassettes, for only $15.98.'

JOHN WILLIAMS: 'Yes, here's a unique opportunity to own a complete library of the world's most beautiful music. Here's how to order.'

  • Luv this commercial, used to be a staple on WPIX in New York
