http://bit.ly/PanoIntro Quick guide to aligning a Nodal Ninja or any other similar panoramic-head to ensure that as you rotate the camera you don't suffer from excessive parallax error.
Part of a larger prezi tutorial on panoramic photography http://bit.ly/PanoIntro
The panohead I'm using in the video is the Nodal Ninja 3 MkII with the basic rotator included in the NN3 MKII Starter Package (not one of the advanced rotators). This uses 'detente' rings to provide a fixed number of rotation stops, rather than the more flexible (and more expensive) versions also available.

The wizzy rotation to enable me to take the nadir shot is enabled with the Nadir Adaptor - which allows you to spin the head around quickly, move the tripod, and shoot straight down without capturing the tripod legs.

I'm also using the Arca style QR clamp (and a QR plate from Really Right Stuff on my Panasonic G2 camera for normal panos (although not shown in this video).
Before you ask - no I'm not shooting panoramic images with a film-based Canon AE1-Program. I'm just using it to illustrate the technique.
just what I was looking for! thanks
