  • Words, words words. Beecham, Koussevitzky, Klemperor, etc, had stupendous "technique", which has little to do with gesture or cue giving, but everything about getting musicians to unify inside the music, and tune in to themselves.

  • I dont want to sound nit-picky, but Walter held a PhD, as well- not just Klemperer (since the prefix is there). of course, a lot of them did.
