The headwaters of the Los Angeles River can be found where Bell Creek and Arroyo Calabasas meet in the San Fernando Valley. The sculptural trough that now sits at the site likely best represents the mental picture most Angelenos have of their main waterway: a man-made concrete channel that only exists to keep the LA Basin from flooding.
