Former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning was in Tallahassee on March 10, 2009, to support legislation that would increase medical coverage for people who suffer from kidney disease, as he did. The recently retired NBA veteran underwent a kidney transplant in 2000. Here, he visits with Gov. Charlie Crist. Mourning is lobbying for bills that would provide "Medigap" coverage to about 500 Floridians under age 65 who suffer from kidney disease.
