I was asked to see if a Woodsman's Pal would easily break open a coconut. The answer is a resounding yes. Hardly any effort was necessary to cause the coconut to explode.

  • Nice job! I just took my Woodman's Pal to my giant pumpkin today....It did a great job, but almost slipped out of my hand once! It looks like the coconut split about as easily as my pumpkin did!

  • Out of curiosity, did you get the one with the leather handle? If you have the wood one and it's slippery, definitely cord wrap it. You don't want it slipping out of your hands when you're chopping!

Glad you like it. I can only imagine what it did to a pumpkin... :-D

  • Good knife and a coconut... what more could you ask for? Ok, maybe a pineapple and some rum? But after that, what more could you ask for?

  • Where *has* all the rum gone, anyway?

  • dude what's with the concrete block lol

  • Check out the earlier comment from

mysticalwoodsman. The theory is simple: If the concrete hurts the Woodsman's Pal... I don't want to rely on it. It didn't even ding the thing, so I like. :)

  • QFT! I will outfit every family member with one when the time comes.

  • Agreed. Oh, and I love my Mora. Those are great little knives! And you sure can't beat the price!

  • true you get what you pay for in some stuff but my $20 Onterio machete has yet to fail me and i've used it darn near every weekend for the last 5 years. Also my $13 Frost Mora has yet to fail in conditions that my $200 TOPS couldent handel...My $500 AK has out functioned MANY 1k+ rifles...the trick is seeing gimmicks and finding the deals.

  • Well, you get what you pay for. I've gotten some things like this from reputable makers, the Kukri from Coldsteel comes to mind, but the quality was way below this. My thought was, if you're going to rely on somethng to save your life, you'd better have the best. It hasn't broken yet!
