removing the t-shirt to use as a tail is an easy way to differentiate between 2 opposing teams in a game. this may be why you see the guys half-naked a lot of the time.
then there's the "walk of initiation" in which the t-shirt is used as a blindfold.
and finally there's the climb up the slippery slope, during which the guys are required to be half-naked.
