I am currently 6 months natural and I love this journey that I'm on. I receive a lot of negativity from family and friends... But I know what I want and what my goals are... In time they will learn to love my hair if not than it's on them. I have a different view of who I am... And I learned to dig deep I realize I am beautiful they way god made me... My mini Afro is broadcast for the world to see. I just can't wait for the length... It's growing like a weed. I never achieved so much growth wit

Sooooooo True with the BW thing!!! Baby! I've been natural for over three years and just recently started wearing my 'fro' outdoors!!!! I aways put a rag on or grease/gel it back in a plait!!! I would always ask and re ask friends and family how I looked when I wanted to go out with them, with my afro popping. They would look at me 'crazy' and would say that I looked fine. So I just started and people compliment me! I love my hair!

Being natural brings out the inner strength within yourself. I feel free.I have enjoyed being natural since 2000. I have just transitioned from dreads locks to twist. In 2000, I did not know how to maintain my hair. so I let it lock and stayed that way for ten years. I am ready for a change now, so I took my locks out but I plan on staying natural. I love who I am in myself. I feel beatiful with my natural hair. Thank you, I have learn so much from beautiful sisters like yourself.

@MsFruitbasket i Agree!!! iUse to press my hair ALL THE TIME. 1. i didn't know what to do w/my hair, 2. i fell into the trap of what others say is beauty then 2yrs ago i started wearing my natural curl &the negative comments i got from people made me almost turn back BUT i loved my curls. iEmbraced my hair instead of changing for someone else's approval. Now people ask me what i use in my hair for they LIKE it & IF i get my hair pressed its to cut split ends; that is usually once a year if any

I love the versatility of being natural. The hairstyling options are almost limitless! I also like that I save so much money. In my relaxed days, I had to pay for salon visits and was a product junkie big time. Now I have my basic, core products that work great for me and don't cost me an arm and a leg. I also handle all my hair care maintenance now, so I'm not dependant on anyone else for the care of my hair.

And also I found that my being natural gave other women w/whom I came in contact, "permission" to go natural as well. It's a beeeaaauutiful thing and I DO feel I moreso represent my Creator and what He originally intended in His creation of me as a natural.

I've gone natural and started over again more than once. I fell in love w/my hair but then sort of regressed. What's so funny is how I would have my natural and see a straight girl and catch a lil envy and then straighten my hair. Then, another time, go out straight and see a natural gal and catch envy too and wished I had gone natural that day etc etc back n forth. So crazy. The more we let go of who we've been told that we are and embrace who we are truly, we will return to our royal status.
Thats so funny you say that about being called Queen. Its funny how when I had weave, I was ma and shawty. But the quality of my men changed when I went natural. I tell everyone that men will call you "queen". I think I haven't been called queen this much EVER in my life.
Its the truth.
