Hot Air Balloon Ride Over Franklin, TN

My ride with B&L Ballooning in the brand new Vanderbilt Orthopaedics hot air balloon. We flew around the area just north of Franklin, Tennessee and landed in front of music artist Michael W. Smith's house. Thanks B&L for the awesome flight!

what keeps that flame from igniting the balloon mid flight?

@TheNikkonish I suggest googling hot air balloons - the flame size and balloon shape don't allow the flame to contact the fabric. However, the pilot can swivel the burner to aim the flames in another direction - so if you're not careful, you could melt a hole in the balloon. The bottom of the balloon (the scoop) is made from fireproof material because of how close it is to the flame.

What if you fall out?

The basket is about 4ft high and you would have to deliberately climb out if you wanted to fall. And I don't think any pilot would let you climb out of their basket. ;)

Nice collection of images & editing! (I just did my first flight and video.) I like how the gondola bottom shows up in a lot of the footage--gives frame of reference. Wish I had shot that--also the views up into the balloon. I like how you manage to include some salient rig and de-rig. Nice hydraulic? hoist that fellow has to get the balloon bag out of the trailer!

Have you ever taken a crap off the side of the basket when up in the air ?

Also why not bring a gun up there in the air and try to shoot down some UFOs so we can study them .
