The Doobie Brothers have played with 2 drummers for like 20-30 years. Micheal Hossack and Ed Toth are Awesome. It gives a rock band the better sound quality! Also the drummers play the same stuff, Hossack is 3 seconds ahead of toth

Look, Put on some good headphones and play "Without You" good and loud, over and over again about ten times, listening carefully for one drummer in each stereo channel. It's a sound unlike anything you hear anyone else in rock n roll doing. After about half an hour you'll either understand what the two drummer concept makes possible or you won't.
