No one is better... Honestly if the last couple of years weren't a downfall in points, he would have had a higher point per game average than Wayne... For a good portion of time he had a higher point per game average.

If the last couple of years were a downfall it's because Mario isn't the best. His pts/game avg absolutely never was higher than Gretzky if you compare their ages and number of games.

mario is the most talented player of all time and maybe the greatest. the guy beat hodskins disease and had to deal with back and hip injuries pretty much his whole career, if he could of stayed healthy there would be no debate, he would be #1.

There is a new book out called "Lets Talk Hockey 50 Wonderful debates" on Amazon that debates in great lengths many, many positive things about Lemieux. One part it has the author criticizing people for ever questioning Lemieux's heart. The quote is: "If you ever hear anyone say that Mario didn't have heart than you can just get up and walk out of the room because that person wouldn't know heart if it slapped them in the face."
