MARIO LEMIEUX top 10

There is a new book out called "Lets Talk Hockey 50 Wonderful Debates" available on Amazon that talks in great lengths about Lemieux. Lots of interesting debates. Good eye candy. Apparently accoring to the author Lemieux is the 4th best player of all time, the best ever on a breakaway and the most naturally talented ever.

Imagine what could have been if it wasn't for cancer and clutching.

I forgot how fast of a skater he was... his dekes just make the goalie look silly. The closest I've seen to this by a current player is Pavel Datsyuk, but he doesn't have the size or intimidation factor of Lemieux.

So true. During his time in the league, the calls weren't as forthcoming as they are now. What would be recognized as headhunting now, was just " pressuring" the talented players back then.

No one is better... Honestly if the last couple of years weren't a downfall in points, he would have had a higher point per game average than Wayne... For a good portion of time he had a higher point per game average.

If the last couple of years were a downfall it's because Mario isn't the best. His pts/game avg absolutely never was higher than Gretzky if you compare their ages and number of games.

But the Oilers had a great team without Gretzky ,too...the Penguins ain`t were nothing without Lemieux... how can you compare them?...
