"Don't say that." Maddie shook her head, "I shouldn't have gone downstairs with him." she confessed her voice dull.

Justin's eyes widened. "You think you deserved it?"

Maddie shrugged her shoulders. "I went downstairs with a guy I didn't know a thing about. What's done is done. You beating him up wont take it back." she sighed heavily, "Nothing can take it back."

Justin bite down against his cheek his heart breaking seeing the girl he loved so broken and hurt. "I know nothing can take it back. He...he needs to have the living shit beat out of him." he slowly made his way over to Maddie trying to think of the right way to help her. "I'm sorry I couldn't have helped you." he whispered embracing her gently. "But I have to talk to him." he pulled away from Maddie reaching for his keys.

Maddie tugged at his arm, "Please just stay with me."

Her small voice sent chills down his spine, sighing Justin placed his keys back on the counter. Looking back at Maddie he smiled softly. "Why don't we go take a nap?"


"Do you need to talk about it?" Justin spoke his warm voice breaking the tense silence in the air.

Maddie continued to look up at the ceiling, "Not now."

Justin nodded with complete understanding, he placed his hands under his head. "Do you remember the winter dance in 7th grade? How me, you, Ryan and Chaz all went together." he chuckled, "Did I ever tell you about the bet we had?" he asked his lips tugging into a grin.

Maddie turned her head her brows locked together in confusion. "What bet?"

Justin chucked thinking back to how childish he was. "The bet was who ever danced with you first got 5 bucks from each loser. Do you remember who you danced with?"

"You." she said softly her lips curving into a small smile. "You guys betted on me!" she hit his chest playfully.

"Hey! I won 10 bucks because of you. As I recall I think I bought you a Jonas Brother's CD for your birthday." he chuckled leaning himself up on his elbows.

Maddie felt her cheeks burn as she giggled. "I remember that. I use to love them. Gosh Nick was a cutie."

Justin gasped, "Nick Jonas a cutie? And what about me? Am I not a cutie?" he asked leaning his face closer to hers.

Maddie shook her head and smiled. "You're way more than a cutie baby." she teased with a wink.

"Oh am I?" he leant to peck her lips.

Maddie turned her head from Justin and shook her head. All though she tried her hardest to forget about Matthew and focus on Justin she just couldn't.

Justin hung his head and sighed heavily. "Sorry, I forgot." he mumbled laying back down on his back.
"I'm sorry Justin. I shouldn't be acting like this."

Justin turned his head looking up at her with wide eyes. "It's okay Maddie. I can wait as long as you need me to." he stoked her arm gently. "Why don't you just get some rest?"

Maddie nodded her head as he turned onto her side. Exhaling heavily she pulled her blankets closer to her and closed her tired eyes.
