history is told differently in different regions around the world, many have different views on different types of things. like here, i'm pretty sure the Japanese people these days were never told on what horrible things their recent ancestors did, but that's no exception to other countries also. Did the American ever talked about what horrible things they did to Vietnam? Korea talked about what they did to each other in the Korean war? Simply history can't really be answered by THEY WERE CRUEL.

本編は十数年前に大井川図書館でLD版を観たんですが、あまりに­もの快作ブリに脳汁ダラリでした。

円谷英二監督が特撮を管理すると、どんな作品でもなんとなく品が­漂うのですが、こっちはチープと言うか、下品と言うか、セコイと­言うか、なんと言うか、

もう兎に角、岡本流にぱっぱぱっぱと話が進んで行き、軍事の素人­には何がなんだか分らないうちに沖縄本当決戦に突き進んでいく。

岡本監督が如何に戦争を嫌っているかはこの映画を観れば一目瞭然­で、戦争の被害者は無能なリーダーの下で命令(指示)を受けなく­てはならない兵隊や住民であって、馬鹿のキチガイ命令で死なざる­をえなかった人達は本当に迷惑な話である。

この映画の面白さは、沖縄戦を色々な角度で描いているところで、

場所によっては兵隊はおろか住民にまで自決を求める指揮官クラス­がいたと思えば、生き延びてこそ意味が在るという信念を持つ人が­出てきたり、兎に角、脳みそを混乱させる。

当時としては低予算大作戦争映画なんで、豪華な出演者のわりには­、色んな所でありえない描写が頻発する。

僕はこの貧乏臭さが逆にリアリティーを生む結果になっていると感­じている。
