@a9106038 Jean Giraud (a.k.a. "Moebius") and his buddies at Métal Hurlant were doing this kind of stuff back in the 1970s (see "The Airtight Garage" or "The Dark Incal"), even before the first Star Wars movie ("A New Hope") was released. It's more accurate to say that the visuals of Star Wars and of every science fiction movie or animation since were influenced directly or indirectly by those guys.
