  • is it a 40th anniversary? if so its got a 3.9

  • @4wheelmadness1 I know, but if you say "3.9" anyone who's not familiar with V6 Mustangs wants to correct you :-P So I took the path of least resistance there....

  • Finished mine today! sounds great, but it seems to have lost a bit of torque on the lower rpms. Did you have this same effect?

  • @musicgeek260 Never really noticed a chance in the low end torque, but then again I have a custom tune, and that might have something to do with it. So how did you do it differently?

  • A few years ago I had a Flowmaster 40 series muffler welded inline lue of the stock muffler along with a 3 inch dia. stainless steel exhaust tip. The sound was incredible...that was until I found out how horrible they "drone" at highway speeds. The constant interior humming was just too much. Do you have this problem with your setup? The rich bass sound comes through clearly over my pc speaks but I was wondering how quiet they sound at 40 and 60 mph respectively (approx. 1600 rpms).

  • @cjkjmk1

I won't lie - it is louder inside, for sure, and it has some drone on the highway. But, it's tolerable, at least to me and my friends. I drive to races in Fontana and Las Vegas (2 and 5 hours away) and it hasn't been a problem. If I was only turning 1600 on the freeway, it would be inaudible over road and wind noise, but I'm usually at 2200-2400, which seems to actually be the point of maximum resonance. But I still have friends falling asleep in the back seat...

And I suppose you buy a VW because you're a douche who can't spell "you", "you're", or even "traffic", FFS... ;-)

Get back to me when you get your learner's permit, "kewl". ;-)

  • @4wheelmadness1 Well I heard that half-way through the production year they switched to a 3.9 but had no performance difference.

  • @4wheelmadness1 mine is =D an it's a 3.8 bro

  • Quiet at idle. Sigh. There's so many videos about mufflers that sound badass, then you watch them, and they're so quiet. Then some ricer pulls up at the gas station next to you and sets off car alarms, and you're still left searching YouTube for that obnoxious note! :P

  • hey i dont get why u shift on the automatic can you please explain to me thanks?

  • I had Flow 40's on my 95 Mustang, then realized how overated mufflers were and my exhaust now stops after the cat. I <3 THE LOUD PEDAL !

  • Clairemont

  • @4wheelmadness1 mines the 40th and its a 3.8?

  • @02mustang38v6

I was think the same thing.

  • is it an auto or a manual? because i didn't see you shifting gears until the end lol.

any way your car sounds nice.

  • Would this work on a 2001 v6 mustang? same procedure and everything? cuz i like this sound and i really want it! oh! and also, do u get any exhaust smell in the car? cuz I dont want my car to smell like exhaust. If you could get back to me asap it would be much appreciated! :)
