This video shows the easiest way to remove the yellow lot number stampings from surplus ammo cans so you can replace them with your own markings. Forget repainting there is a much easier way.

  • But why would you want to take off the cool lettering? I like to try to find ones with different special writing like I have one for 8mm, and I have one for 6mm, and 7.62x54, but that is a nice easy way to do it.

  • @ZombieTacticalStore Yeah, I have some that are marked shotgun instead of the normal .50 cal and that is pretty cool, BUT.... I have several "hundred" reloaded rounds and got tired of storing them in cardboard boxes. I have a bunch of ammo cans, but never know what's in them because they all say 5.56 or .50 cal. My plan is to stamp them in the same manner as the military markings, but actually say what is in them...

  • Acetone, which is the base component of fingernail polish remover can be used for alot of differnt things. It can also be used to remove the DRMO stamp on used field gear that you buy. It can also be bought a the hardare store in quarts and gallons it is a little cheaper than buying polish remover.

  • Very nice tip Sir! Hope you show how you remark them!
