A pictorial tribute to Native Americans. One of the things that I always stress to my students, is that Native Americans were almost universally a warrior people. I can't stand the whole notion that Natives were hippie tree-loving simpletons mowed over by the European/American soldiers. They weren't. They fought for over 100 years, in 100s of battles. Over a 100 years. Think about that...now thats a warrior.
Set to Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory-- all photos, drawings and most of the paintings featured in the video are contemporary to the time of the Plains Indians Wars-- though some of the pen and ink drawings are from the colonial era, and one or two of the paintings are modern.
