Silverscreech
BMW 320D
Nurburgring
9min
17th Lap ever of the Ring
Watch the 320D keep up with the petrol M5, save for 10 seconds!!!
The poor lines in the first 2 mins are me keeping right to try and let the M5 by.

See the M5 go into a tank slapper as he overtakes me - I am doing 130mph at that time.
Tire screech in reality seems much worse than on the video!

Enjoy!

  • Do I hear an auto gearbox here?

  • @vytautuig It is a manual - but perhaps my gear changes are not so hot!!!

  • 2:54

    is that an old 407?

    haha

  • @StraightXedgee Yep - I think it was! A family of holidaying brits in there too! What a top break away from reality - spending 3 days at the Ring. I even got 1 lap where I was the only one there - just me and the Green Hell!

  • I don't want to be 'that guy', but I find the video hard to watch because of the high-frequency screech in the audio... It's possible it's at a pitch where most people can't hear it but for me it's pretty loud and grating.

I don't know if there is a way to fix it, just thought I'd mention it.

    ( It's a wolf thing, possibly :P )

  • @Silverscreech no no, your gear changes are perfect. In fact they were so smooth that thought it was an automatic. Good driving. Thanks for this vid.

  • @lexallesflex The car was chipped - but I doubt it got up to 215bhp, probably more like 190 ish. They reckon it was up to 200, but without a rolling road there is nothing to confirm that and, to be fair, the chip tuning companies over state the benefits to sell their product!

I would love to go back in a proper car and give a serious laptime a go, although I suspect that I may have pushed my luck already! If I had of stacked it then oh oh!

  • @lexallesflex from 2008 and up it has 184 bhp

  • nice driving!!

  • @StraightXedgee 6:54 ...

I was seriously lokking for that stupid peugot, till i gave up at arround 6 minutes...

  • @Ksinix if its a standard 320d it should have about 163 hp, But, since i doubt that engine could keep up with an m5, it might as well be chiptuned, and i think that will bring up about 215hp if im not mistaking, or, ofcourse the m5 driver just sucked at driving! btw, 340hp alpina b10, 400hp m55, how could you keep up with this car???

Even if it was an alpina b10, or a 540i, i must say, classy drivin, or that dude in the big overpowered car should take a second exam...
