HK500GT Tail problem and Soft Start

HK500GT with Turnigy Plush 80A ESC. Soft start seems to be fixed by ensuring proper tension on main blades and everything operating smoothly. Still need to confirm that the tail problems have been fixed by reducing head speed.

Yeah, I cant get a good soft start with the Turnigy Tz85A ESC either. Some say to use governor mode, but I'm not sure. Nice vid. Was the new main shaft Align? or a new HK? Which motor? Typhoon 1800kv? Pinion size?

@Blaydrnnnr, the motor is a Turnigy Typhoon 500H - 1800kv with a 12T pinion. I would put an 11T if I could. I reduced the head speed. Main shaft was an HK shaft.

@gi1mo2 You running 6S batteries? I'm running 5S, with a 13T pinion gives me just about 2500 RPM's. ( 2488 average ) I have an 11T, but with 5S batteries, it would be too low of a headspeed. ( about 2100 average ) You can get the 11T from REVCo. 12T would give me around 2300 RPM's.

@Blaydrnnnr, Yes 6S 3000mAh with 12T. I had to reduce head speed on the transmitter. See my other video comparing HK500GT to my Trex 500 ESP. Trex is more responsive, aggressive... Can run faster head speed.

@gi1mo2 OK, Mine has been maidened. mine is the HK500CMT, but its 90% Align. head, tail, main and auto gears, belt drive, and swash. The 85A Turnigy needs to be used in governor mode to gat a good soft start. I'm running the 1800Kv with 5S batts and a 12T pinion. Very smooth, headspeed is about 2100. Might go to a 13T, the Align head can hold better head speeds...around 2400 would be just right.

@gi1mo2 My HK is almost all Align now, head, tail, belt drive, main and auto gears and hub, its basically a Trex 500 with a clone frame..LOL. Thanks for the replies..With %s batteries, I'll be running a 13T. I'd like to keep it arounf 2500 RPMs. I dont have the plush, I have the other Turnigy ESC, the 85A. The soft start works better with the governor turned on for a 15 second spool up. Good vid, thanks again!
