Its just weird to hear Santa Lucia in other language than Swedish and Finnish. :)
But this one sounds beautiful too. Tho I cant understand the words and from other comments I understanded that the lyrics are different than the once we have.

Yeah -- actually I found another YouTube video of a Swedish choir singing. Nowhere near as great singing of course. Same tune, different words, different language. And actually there was a site that had the Swedish words (search "Santa Lucia words in Swedish"). But anyway, this is lovely. It's just funny to hear a song about the boat bobbing on the silvery waves and see the video of rosy-cheeked kids playing in the snow! But, all good.

The singing is incredible. But I don't understand -- Santa Lucia is a Swedish saint and also an area near Venice. This song is about Venice, an Italian gondolier song... the video is about Sweden... right? Is there a connection? The video's lovely and the singing is absolutely wonderful but how do the two fit together?

No, you're right, Emer8008 - there is a problem. Santa Lucia day in Sweden and also the rest of Scandinavia is among others things about singing this song. But with texts with another content. But Swedish, Danish, Norwegian versions are impossible to find. So this one had to do it...
