I think "Boom Goes the Dynamite" was a damn good improvisation on his end to try to get some excitement into a shitty situation. As most have said before, other people would've completely crumbled under the pressure. Kudos to Brian for dry eyes.

This is by far the greatest monumental fuck up I've ever seen. Not on Brian Collins' side only. What a shitty broadcasting station. It's unacceptable to stick a 19-year-old rookie with no experience under so much pressure.
If anyone deserves to be fired or never work again it's whoever was in charge that night.
Nonetheless, this is bloody fucken funny!!!

The scheduled anchor had canceled, so Collins, a 19-year-old telecommunications freshman offered to help. He had never done a sportscast. First of all, the teleprompter didn't work, a new person on the prompter accidentally fast forwarded through the script so Collins could pick out only a word here or there before it disappeared from the prompter screen. He had the typewritten script pages in front of him for emergencies but they were hopelessly out of order..... continued
