Spooky about 1 year old new past time

Here my cat Spooky is about a year old now, and seems to have found a new past time this late summer, eating bugs like flys moths and crickets. My dad decided to let a big one in from the garage to see what the cat would do, in the end he killed it but did not eat it, kept nipping it and pawing it till it was dead, he also loves to eat weeds outside and lick the dust off the fake plants, and think everywhere is a scratching post, though I cut his nails short my dad is growing thin on patiance for the cat to stop scratching since I wont let him get the cat declawed and we tried the kitty caps he pulls them off even when superglued, we tried the no scratch spray and he just goes elsewhere to scratch on the couch and we tried the double sided tape he just finds another spot on the couch. we let him scratch the walls and tree we have ithe courner but he is not content with that.

such a little goofbal, that is softer then a rabbit.
