Prairie Rose Taffy is one year and two weeks old and celebrating the 4th of July by showing off her flying carpet gallop. Notice how her back hardly bounces as she flies in big circles around her herd mates.
Taffy's smooth gallop is one of the reasons many people prefer gaited horses like her. By gaited we mean they have no-bounce ways of running. This makes them great for mounted shooting, endurance competitions (no posting!), and for riding by people like me who are too disabled to ride a bouncy horse.
Taffy is a Colonial Spanish filly, registered with the American Indian Horse Registry (http://www.indianhorse.com) AIHR AA-5070 .
Taffy's dam is Prairie Rose Alice, AIHR AA-5068. Sire is Vikingo de Los Angeles, a Paso Fino, PFHA 37728, NASHA 2007-52.
Whoever gets to ride her first shall win the title of "Magic Carpet Rider"!
I think there should be an animated movie about Paso Finos. We already have Spirit. It'd be interesting... -Starts thinking-
Taffy is too gorgeous for words!
