Oh I assure you there is an Infostealer. Symantec Antivirus just found two such applications dressed up as text files on my computer. Recently, I've been having issues with a hacked WOW account, even after I changed my email and password multiple times, and so I know they were using a keylogger and surely this one.
I wasn't phished, though. I'm pretty sure I got these trojans by way of pirated software. Watch out, mateys...
Well actually, as it turns out, what Symantec caught was a false positive.
Blizzard puts out a file every once in a while called "scan.dll". Its meant to scan a WoW user's system to see what CPU they use, how much RAM they use, and so on. Its basically a covert survey they use that affects how they make the game in the future. Because of what it did, Symantec thought it was an info stealer. So there was really no problem.
the only thing they're gonna see is something they didnt want to

@arenwolf22 same thing just happened to me. Sucks but good thing Norton caught it!

Common practice for theft of game accounts like World of Warcraft too.
Symantec caught one on my computer RIGHT as I was about to login to my account.
Cleaned by deletion.
Thank you Norton.
