Tara in Danger: Stop the M3 Motorway

Featuring a press conference given by TaraWatch, this video gives details of the M3 Motorway, which the Irish Government decided to build beside the Hill of Tara, Meath, Ireland. Even though a major new national monument has been found in the path of the motorway, the Government is under no obligation to preserve it. Indeed, as the video demonstrates, destruction of heritage was well underway before the motorway started construction.

No, it's very much a "lose-lose".

Firstly, it involves the destruction of a delicate and archaeologically diverse landscape which may contain information about our past that may never be recovered.

Secondly, why four motorways through Meath? If that's not indication enough of farcical and destructive planning techniques, I don't know what is.

10 years of so called progress and what have we got to show for it?  Mounting debt and bulldozed historical sites. Mind you a bulldozed anicent site is a filling monument to the ideals of the Celtic Tiger.
