Kaushaliya is surprised to see Ram, without his bodyguards. Ram tells her that he will not be the king but Bharat and he will be going to Vanwas for 14 years. Kaushliya is shocked. Kekai tells Washishth that now Bharat will be the king and Ram will go to Vanwaas for 14 years.
Kaushaliya does not believe this as Dashrath & Kekai love Ram the most, but Ram informs her that now Kekai wants Bharat to be the King. Washishth & Sumanth tell Kekai that this will spoil her name and she will loose the respect of people but she remains adamant. Sita, Urmila Laxman and Sumitra and everybody is shocked when they realise that not Ram but Bharat will be the King. No one could believe that Kekai could do such a thing.

Jai Shri Ram! I just love this episode, poor Kaushalya! I cried buckets during this scene in old Ramayan and I cried again here. Both Gurmeet and Arun were such great Rams in this scene, especially in this scene. They truly rocked the Ayodhya Kand of both serials! Both were so interesting and realistic, no false pretence at all! There is nothing fake in this episode, a big round of applause to all the actors of Ramayan! Without them, this show would not have been as good.

i feel like crying when i think about doshorot and koysolla. 14 years of exile is not only for Ram, it's for his parents too. a mother cannot sleep if her son is outside at night. and 14 years in a jangle!!!!..........how will she feel?????
