  • I have a normal hornby select dcc, could I use one of these without a pc?

  • I don't think you can, due to the comunication to and from the controller. But you can add 2 aspect signals by using a Point & Accessory Decoder, but not sure about the hornby Point & Accessory Decoder. you set it up to output a steadystate output and connect the signal to the outputs. then like chaging a point you will be able to switch a signal.

  • where did you get this automatic signal and detection and can it do a hole layout?

  • It is all part of the Digitrax system. You can get the detection board and signalling board. Then using the Loconet, you connect them together. The detection and signalling are monitored and controlled via the PC, along with the automatic running of trains. I tend to have a number of trains running in automatic and 1 I control manually. my set up was about £300, which will depend on the size of the layout. Yes you can control and monitor the whole of your layout if you wish.
