  • Wow! Is this also from the legendary 1958 recital?

  • Yes, on June 8th in a Maly (Small) Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

  • Why post it with more than a third of it missing? It's been cut off with at least 6 minutes deleted.

  • Because there is a 10 minutes limit... but you can try to find part 2 ;)

  • likewise, this 'sonata' is a glimmer of transcendent universal perfection... & beyond

  • i love scriabin, and i love all of you for loving scriabin too :)

  • @truecrypt Las sonatas de Scriabin ejecutadas por Sofronitsky tienen una gran peculiaridad, puesto que el mismo Scriabin fue su suegro, de alguna manera entendía más profundamente el significado de sus sonatas.

  • Richter said it,...."Sofronitsky was made for Scriabin, and Scriabin for Sofronitsky!"

Faubion Bowers, The New Scriabin: Enigma and Answers.

I believe a revised version was published in 1996. And if you

don't know of it, search for Scriabin Society. Not possible to

    post a link here.

  • thank you

  • Truecrypt, can't thank you enough for all that you have done, all the joy and pleasure your postings have given us. Sofronitsky and Scriabin, and so much more. Heartfelt thanks, alkuhn1

  • This was an unhealthy period for art in general. Expressionistic.Ravel,Debussy discovered spanish, negro,Asian influence -it saved them.Rachmaninoff discovered shaped melody an old standby.roslavets and these others: it's not safe.Go to the next period Berg ,Sessions ,Copland variations , there are ghosts in this music trying to be re-born. Give it up its purply substance will kill.Give it up I say!

  • Are there any decent books about Scriabin? About his life etc? Ive looked and yet to find any.
