2-25-2011 - Shouting "Shame!" on Wisconsin Assembly floor before "union-busting" budget bill vote

This is video from the gallery of the WI Assembly past 1 AM in the morning on 2/25/2011. The Democrats have just been told by the speaker pro tempore there will be no more debate before the vote, even though there were more than a dozen Democrats in the queue to speak. They shout "Shame! Shame! Shame!"

The public citizens in the gallery were shortly told to leave by police. None of the public were allowed in the gallery at the time of the vote.

MeGReddy350zy is completely right. And shortstopgoalie is correct too. The richest Americans are paying most of the taxes in this country. If you took those top 20% or so out your life would be so miserable because of all the extra money you have to give to the government that the democrats just want to throw at stupid stuff like Michelle Obamas 22 personal staff. All of whom you are paying so that she can have her "hair did" in rio.

Look, we can play ping pong with statistics all night and wind up nowhere. In all human history, a small number of high achievers have been pulling the economy of any given country forward and upward. That's just human nature. But to complain that 25% of America's income earners are paying only 85% of all taxes is bizarre by any definition.

In any case, at the core of Wisconsin's problem is the alliance of union bosses and democrat politicians. It is gov serving itself.

@scottsway Agreed, but the union has NOTHING to do with that. In Wisconsin in particular, the Union was embezzling tax payer's funds to run their scam healthcare program. That wasn't a lie. The Unions can't stop the manufacturing companies from leaving the country and their collective bargaining got a LOT of people bargained out of a job. I'd rather be underpaid than unemployed, any day of the week!

@BikerBry ....the numbers dont lie....400 of the elite in American have as much wealth as roughly 150 million Americans...the gap between the earnings of owner and worker has grown about 400% in just the last couple of decades...and yet, we are supposed to believe that our stumbling economy is the fault of the meager benefits and earnings accrued by teacher's unions?? Illegal immigrants were scapegoated, now unions....this country is growing more sick and immoral by the second.

Forcing these hard working people to bend over and take it in their wallet and give them nothing back. They weakened the labor force and forced many large companies to go elsewhere to manufacture goods at a reasonable cost. REALITY... CHUMP, not your "union" fantasy. Get an education over the 6th grade and you might understand how it "really" works.

You can bitch about how wrong it is, but it already happened and LABOR cost is the MAIN reason. LABOR costs driven by the UNIONS. How is being unemployed working? Is it better to be union and poor? The FACT is that Unions negotiated unrealistic compensation and cost all their fellow auto workers a job which also destroyed Detroit.

@scottsway I've worked in a Union shop, did nothing but cost me money and force me to strike for a few months and NOTHING was gained. The Autoworkers Union... ya... those businesses are doing good aren't they? Unions FORCED the automakers OUT of the fucking country because of collective bargaining. Why do you think your Buick is made in Mexico now? How did that union work out for you?
