so the video is that the guy's girlfriend/wife is cheating on him and his life starts falling apart? i always thought it was about a private investigator finding something so grotesque or personal in a crime or about his family that it completely changes his life and view of the world. idk, anyone elses guess is as good as mine. really mysterious song

Being a child of the 90's born and raised in the US, it took me a while to discover this band, but I gotta say, I'm hooked. Unmatched guitar playing with creative and often moving lyrics... People don't believe me when I tell them Mark Knopfler is God. Fools!!!

@cygnusinc Mark Knopfler is naturally left-handed, but plays guitar right-handed for a reason. Originally, he played violin and orchestra strings all have to play the same way so they don't hit each other.

@jwbrough1 I think that because of its length, it doesn't get much airplay. Great song, though. Actually, when I saw MK in 2001, I was surprised that he played Telegraph Road, but not Private Investigations.
