This digital story is built on the definitional "Wake Up Everybody"—Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes with Teddy Pendergrass on the lead. I used this digital story to introduce a lecture/discussion I did for the National Education Association. The images are from a variety of sources.

I love this song ~
I grew up near the projects ~ they were called Newsome Park ~ we lived in the NEW projects some would say ~ we had neighbors from all walks of life ~ one Halloween the Korean neighbors gave us change and crackers - LOL we had the nicest black family across the hall ~ we also criminals ~ one memory was the stripper - LOL her daughter was my friend ~ we cooked pork chops and looked at her mother's high heels ~ I wanted to be her.
