Hillbilly Motel October 1992

In October 1992, my hubby, his Aunt & I went to a reunion in the hillbilly area of Kentucky he is from. We stayed at the only motel with available rooms in the area. It turned out to be a fleabag motel. I captured it on video. What a trip!

Whoa. I was not trying to insult your area at all. I have really enjoyed going there the many times I have been to Prestonsburg. When we stayed there we had no idea what kind of motel it was, only that it was the only one with a vacancy that night. We just thought it was humorous that it turned out to be a fleabag motel and so I filmed it for fun. My late hubby was from Pike county and he liked the area and had fond memories of it. :)

Trust me, my late husband was not cheap and did not want to put me in such a dump. It was the only motel available in the area that nite, having gotten there at 4:30 or 5 am. In fact he left while I was still sleeping to go and get us a better motel. He could've been sleeping which he needed but instead took the time to find us a better motel. SO it eventually worked out for better. :)

Believe it or not Jenny Wiley was sold out lol. We were going to a reunion there which was why it was all sold out as well as other motels. We learned from this incident to book your rooms in advance if you are going to that area.

Naw we weren't expecting the Hilton but we didn't expect a fleabag either lol. All the other motels were booked up at the time. The guy knocking on the wall was no idiot but was my dear late husband. He was from the nearby area so he had fun poking fun at his own area he was from lol.

I guess the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park was waaayyy out of your price range. There is NO WAY ALL the rooms at the park were sold out October. Anyone familiar with Floyd County knows there were others options available in 1992.

Everyone on this video is as backwards as the bumpkins your poking fun at. The date says 1992 but the clothes scream early 80's at best. The women are straight from the local bingo hall with marlboro's in hand.

What I find the most funny is that in 1992 there were atleast 4 other motels witin a few miles of this one. You were expecting a room @ the Hilton on your 25.00? really?
