  • Hey Ag00dgranma,

Aw, congrats!! Oh yes, I remember when I tried to caption mine for the first time, it was very frustrating, too. Just give it a lot of time and practice, you will be pro by then. :-D

    WTG!

  • DId you CC this? LOL

  • Oh River.. LOL!

In fact, I just finished adding so now it's there! :-P

  • good graicous.. That is a lot of work.... I just typr my words in the (MORE INFO) so that they can read what I said and then watch the video.

I don't have the patience for that what you just did.

Perhaps I'll make one and see how it goes. Thanks for the link and help suggestions.

  • Wow, it takes quite a while to do that. Thanks for making your videos accessible to those who are still learning ASL.

  • @hhhcce On the other hand, if you take the time to compose what you're going to say, and write up some notes ahead of time *anyway*, then it's relatively easy just to cut and paste.

And even if you don't, it's certainly a lot less work to make captions than it is trying to understand videos that don't have any!

  • Thanks for mentioning the detail of exporting your file after you're finished. Overstream's tutorials don't mention that bit, and I couldn't figure out why the captions weren't showing up on YouTube. (but I fixed it, now). :-)

BTW, YouTube's auto transcribe is good... IF you want some sort of spoof of psychodelic poetry. Not so good if you want to know what a person is actually saying (Especially if that person is a woman -- auto transcribe is sexist!).

  • Great video! I have been working hard at manually adding closed captions to all my How-To videos so that you can just click the CC button at least on my channel. And it will translate into different languages too. Not perfect but better then nothing.

  • Hi, I was looking for information on how to add closed captioning, and this is very helpful! :) I can relax now that I don't have to buy any software for it.

  • Very useful.

My Welsh language vlog will be all the easier now!

  • Hello. Thank you very much for telling me about Overstream. I am going to use it to add closed captioning in two languages to my foreign language practice videos in which I speak. I think every video should have closed captioning! It's just an excellent idea, and everyone benefits from it.

  • It worked! thanks SO MUCH!

    im subscribing!

  • Hey thanks for the vid. I have been meaning and trying with other programs without success. Overstream is by far the easiest one I have used!!! Thanks Geo.
