Released in 2006 on Kranky.

Tim Hecker is an experimental / ambient artist from Montreal, Canada. He is easily one of my favorite artists. I swear by him. This is his 4th full length.

I own practically everything this guy has to offer. This is probably his best work. Certified mind blowing stuff. Great dynamics, sound textures, superb attention to detail.

Combines electronic music with drone, noise, glitch into massive walls of dense sound, sparse ethereal passages of cloudy white noise, stretched out synths, all manner of minute details.

Beautiful sheets of all encompassing sound to bury yourself in. It will change your life. You will not regret it.

Headphones are advised.

5/5

  • I didn't really dig An Imaginary Country that much, too glitchy. But I think when I go back to the record store today, I'll grab it.

  • I felt that way about Imaginary Country, too. Wasn't nearly as good Heckers back catalogue.

  • I love Tim Hecker's stuff, I just picked up the cd he did with Aidan Baker called Fantasma-Parastasie.

great cd! great reviews! keep up the awesome work!

  • I love Tim hecker.

I also have an old review of Fatasma up.

  • @fluffthebunny radio amor is the glitchyest album, I actually thought an imaginary country was kinda toned down even from harmony in ultraviolet

  • "Intricacies and all of that kind of shit". Wonderful prose. Wonderful album too.

  • Haa, you are awesome....

  • Tim Hecker makes me so happy

People who like Tim Hecker make me happy, too

  • Thanks for this. I had been meaning to check Tim Hecker out for some time now, but this review was what finally made me take the plunge. Absolutely amazing.

Oh my god, quit dragging out the argument. You bounce from subject to subject and even worse, you're posting this on a video that has nothing to do with what you're talking about.

Philly, are you able to remove all this idiot's posts? Or better yet, make a video about him. You know, give him a plug? ;)

  • @fluffthebunny

actually its more about seeing how big of a fool I can make out of you... but you seem to handle that fairly well on your own.
