Funding issues for DDRC patients in South Wales

Since opening the new Hyperbaric Medical Centre at the Spire Cardiff Hospital in June this year, DDRC has been finding that the funding of patients has been sporadic at best. Health Commission Wales (HCW) requires that patients are individually assessed for funding depending on their diagnosed condition. A number of patients have been waiting many months for approval, and Welsh Assembly Member Peter Black has been lobbying on behalf of these patients; subsequently ITV in Wales decided to feature the issue in one of their news programmes.
