Heads up... You can avoid the nitwits at 9-1-1. Each boro has a direct dial to the REAL fire dispatchers. You can find them in the phone directory if you look hard. Example: Brooklyn is 718-6361700. This is an active emergency number...no messing around please.

There were dispatchers that knew we were going to a fire before we left the fire house. They are no longer there.
