Great Swedish actress Gaby Stenberg have sadly passed away (20 sep 2011), She was born 1923 in Tokyo by Swedish parents. Most known in recent years and remembered is she from the Swedish television soup opera Rederiet (The Shipping company, from the nineties) , some parts you can see at Youtube.
Today not so known is that she also was a good singer, and did various recordings.
But, I'm surprised that newspapers not mention her biggest success in the Swedish film operetta Löjtnantshjärtan ( Lieutenant's hearts) . Even if I wanted to upload some other good example of her singing career is this a such important item, that I have to choose that one. Even if she don't sing it just her self (together with Gösta Kjellertz).
During WW2 Sweden had difficulties to import good mowies from other countries, so we had to do it by our self. Jules Sylvain was asked to write the music. This was the title melody and reached an enormous popularity 1942. Gaby Stenberg and Gösta Kjellertz was one of the two pairs of lover. (Sickan Carlsson and Lasse Dahlquist the other), they also recorded it with Arne Hülphers and his orchestra the same year.
