Why an Atheist Talks About Religion

I get asked pretty often, "Why do you talk about religion all the time? You don't believe in any of it." And it's true I don't believe it, but other people do - and that's both weird and worrisome. Growing up in a cult, I saw the child neglect inherent in fundamentalism. Today I say faith is not a virtue; faith is a vice.

@shieldsff Horus was Jesus long before Jesus. Krishna was Jesus before Jesus. The tribe of Juda barrowed heavily from Mesopotamia, Egypt and Hinduism (though one could argue with trade routes everyone influenced everyone.) The ideas in the Bible can be found in tales of Egyptology and Hinduism. Even the name Jesus (originally more like 'Yeh'shu'wa' /Joshua - a very common name) came from the word/god Zeus. You don't have to worship Isis, but going back further may deepen your understanding.

Angie I think you are awesome and a very sweet woman I agree with you about religion however you don't have be religious to believe in God! I believe in heaven, hell God and Jesus having faith and prayers

@KingdomSeeker2012 My dear friend, if God is wonderfully powerfull and doesnt a need a single piece of bread from men to live, why did he create people to suffer under wars and desieses in the world? By the way, do you know where "our beliefs" come from? From Europe, my dear friend! Our indians worshiped the Sun, the Sea, the moon... By the way, in my opinion this weak mentality of people because of religions will give in someday. We are a proof of it: people from all over the world can share their experiences and ideas in a matter of seconds. Do you know why are there many cases of homossexualism amoung christian people? Of course! Dating is a mortal sin! You can not kiss, you can not touch and love someone before you get a fucking marriage ring on your finger. This sounds to me like a contract you have to sign! The church doesnt help people to open their mind and wide their views up! They dont talk about drugs, sexuality, human relations... Theyre always putting the blame of bad things on the devil and glory of nice thingd on God...
