Actually, you're wrong. Time magazine did a spread in the 70s about Afghan hatred towards America. It showed a small child holding a gun while others held signs that said "Death To America". These people hated us long before the 80s. As far as the women being forced to wear burkas, that would be islam that forces them to do that, no the U.S.

Look at Afghanistan in the early 80s before all American intervention. Women in the Government, Universities, important Jobs - a flourishing, thriving country. Why did the US destroy all this beauty by building up the MujahedinTaliban since 1979, forcing the women under the burka and wrecking the country? It is sad to look at the dead shadow of Afghanistan after 20 years of meddling and 10 years of American rule.
