  • @lovejoypain Yeah well I figure New Kids and New Edition dumped him because he was doing things that he wasn't supposed to be doing. I know that's what happened in the case of New Edition. In the case of New Kids On The Block he was just signing deals with multi-national companies without really consulting with them. And with that they were being over-exposed.

  • @lovejoypain I hear you. Still, they shouldn't be credited really if they waren't should they...? I don't know all that about Maurice Starr. But figures...entertainment biz and everything.

  • @lovejoypain I didn't say they were the "first modern boy band!" I said they were "credited as the for being the world's first boy band from 1984-1994" I already know about New Edition but was never that into them.

Maurice ssems to have this thing of having an idea for a boy band only to have his idea blow up in his face. It's too bad that he let his egocentricness get in the way of being a good mentor to his protoges. :)

  • @CelesteK New Kids were NOT the first modern boy band group. Boy band groups began with RnB acts like New Edition- which is where new kids and all the rest- Backstreet , Nsync etc got their concept from. Muarice Starr managed New Edition before he ever managed New Kids. And even before that there were the doo wop male bands of the 40, 50s 60s and 70s.

  • @bluedevilfan1234 The New Kids on the Block were credited for being the world's first boy band and from 1984-1994 they had giddy girls arguing over which one of them was the cutest. But after they dumped their producer and mentor Maurice Starr is when things started to change and they weren't the same anymore. They broke up in 1994 and got back together in 2008.

  • Awesome! You guys have inspired me to go see the New Kids-I never did in my youth-at that time I liked their songs but was more into seeing groups like the Stone in concert-tastes change though and improve!~!

Donnie is my favorite ♥Hottie♥ lol. He can Dirty Dance on ME and show me his Grown Man ANYTIME lol! :-)

  • hey where are you from???

  • she will never know the incredible joy of the show:)
