Seth and Elizabeth get help from their friend Tim crossing the Pacific Ocean. In total it took them 19 days and 19 hours to cross over 3,000 miles at sea - from the Galapagos to the Marquesas Islands.

  • Great videos my wife and myself are sailing back to Australia via the Panama and Galapagos just wondrering if you could please share a little info with us regarding the course you took from Galapagos to Hiva Oa Kind Regards Kevin & Debbie Sv Sognare

  • @quovadis46 Happy to help. Send me an email to my youtube account or visit our blog at sailblogsdotcom for more info. Our boat name was Honeymoon.

  • I don't understand how experienced sailors know how to knock out a fish by spitting rum into it's gills, but they don't know how to stop wind noise buggering up the audio on their movie.

  • @dreamdiction Sorry, we tried our best with what we had with us. This entire video was shot on a canon point and shoot digital camera.

  • Could you go into detail about why you made this trip with a friend instead of just you and Elizabeth? My bride and I have a special needs daughter, and we were planning to make this trip in a good 40 to 50 ft cat. Could you offer lessons learned on this trip? I can get you my email if you can tell me how to and keep it private. GREAT vid - many thanks!

  • @n3313v For safety reasons we wanted more than just the two of us on board. Fears included someone getting sick, encountering mechanical problems with the auto-pilot, not being alert during our watches at night, etc. An extra person also helps keep it entertaining and Tim was fantastic. The remaining 17 months we had to ourselves! Please visit our sailblogs . com account for more (search Honeymoon)

  • Not yet! But we're keeping our hopes up... And in a strange display of fate, I (Seth) ended up getting a job with a wine company as the brand manager to the wine brand Elizabeth threw overboard! How strange is that?

  • Nice video. Thanks for sharing your wonderful journey with us.

  • Your bottle is floating down the Chicago River.

  • @Runswithscissors111 first off, start saving your money. realistically you could buy a decent boat that can do this and get her ready for under 50k. theres many other costs, but lets say you save 10k for the next 7 years or more, then you can do it it by 25. im 25 now and wish i would of started saving when i was 18. i did some fun backpacking trips, but sailing is where its at for me. theres a lot of starter boat, but get the cash in hand then u can figure that out.

  • AWESOME! I am trying to talk my wife into sailing to Jamaica. May have to settle for a short trip to Bermuda.

  • Big catamaran.

    fast.

  • Wow!! I am only 18 years old, but to boat/sail across an ocean has always been one of my dreams, you are so lucky! Any recommendations you can give for me for good starter boats and other explorer tips?

  • @sethhynes, yes I was just joking. I just got around to watching your entire voyage in chronological order on the break. Great job recording everything, it's pretty close to my idea for a retirement (or financially free) adventure. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor upon learning Elizabeth's age. Would have never guessed in ten tries!

  • thank you for the video across the Pacific, really enjoyed the expierience, now have some idea ,great equipment with you, guite an undertaking to sail across the ocean,as you never know the weather conditions.wish you good health and happyness. Ari

  • Another neat trick is to fill a spray bottle with cheap 100 proof wiskey you can actually pull the fish to the surface and hit him while he's still in the water.

  • Great stuff..... Adventure still lives....
