This was an ambitious attempt to convey leader Neil Kinnock as a humble, down to earth man, voters can relate to. This was directed by Hugh Hudson and featured Kinnock's 1985 conference speech, and shots of him and Glenys walking on the Great Orme in Llandudno (so emphasising his appeal as a family man and associating him with images of Wales away from the coalmining communities where he grew up),

Kinnocks performances against thatcher in 1990 were absolute classics. He made her look like the decrepit, demented and pathetic figure she truly was. Had an election been called that year he would have walked it, the poll tax would have buried the nasty bastards in the tory party. Best pm we never had.

He showed his true colours when he and his family jumped on the Eu bandwaggon filling their pockets and also waved through the crooked Eu accounts, even sacking the Messenger who dared to tell him the truth eg Marta Andreassen. Kinnock a bullshitter ,a real stinker !!

Kinnock is a hypocrite. This was the man who served as an EU Commissioner but in the '70s railed against the EU. He is also the only Labour leader since the 1920's to lose two elections on the trot without ever being PM or holding any government office. I hated Maggie but Kinnock was simply no match for her or indeed John Major when it came to it. It is sad that Labour had no electable leader during the '80s and early '90s as this condemned the country to 18 years of damaging tory policies.

Whatever you may think of his individual views and policies, this was a politician of real warmth and principle. A good, decent human being. In fact, he embodies the qualities which are missing in politics today. The Sun should forever hang its head in shame for the way they abused him.
