Next up is the Grinta, a stepped grinder with great consistency but an all plastic case. Gail takes us through its features, function and uses it to pull a shot on the Oscar.

  • i hade Baratza Virtuoso it wont work with espresso machines the guy told where i bought peace junk ive got the chrome model Nuova Simonelli Grinta Grinder cost 9 houndred dollers best grinder in the world with rancilio silvia v3 i realy love it thats why peaple dont get creama you need commercial grinder

  • @thelegend761 It does work with some machines, but it is pretty close to the finest setting in order to do so and often folks have to recalibrate. It's kind of the bottom rung for espresso grinders; but I agree that the more you invest in a grinder, the better your results -- pay more for the grinder than the machine, IMHO :) - Kat

  • I gotta go with the Baratza Virtuoso. The company sent me a new gear box to replace the old one, with extra shims to make the grind finer. It now grinds better than the Rancilio Rocky I bought from you guys. And it doesn't clump! :) The Rocky has been demoted to drip coffee. *lol*

  • @jdharding2 Haha :) Good to hear - Kat

  • We have one of these at the shop for our swiss water decaf espresso (no idea why we started carrying that) and its just as described, lumpy but good for the price

  • @alexsilreg Cool to hear you're using in a lighter duty gig at a cafe -- we'll keep that in mind when folks are asking for something similar. Thank you for sharing that! - Kat

  • @rcdrvrrc7 haha -- it must be a manufacturer design flaw! :D - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear It must be broken cause we cant see you..... JK ;-P

  • @craigdamico1 I think it's cool for it's price, etc -- definitely a higher end grind than many in this class. - Kat

  • @joeldamianicigan Yep -- they're both up here, the Oscar and the Musica have their own crew reviews. - Kat
