CAA OD100 SE+ vs Peavey 6505+

The guitar is a MIM Fender "Lonestar" Stratocaster with a Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge and Texas Specials in the neck/middle positions (I don't switch to them in this video.) Cab is a Marshall 1960BV with the stock Marshall Celestion "Vintage" speakers.

To me, the CAA sounds bigger. It's alot more "tweakable", has bigger lows and lower mids, smoother highs, etc... The Peavey is no slouch though, and at 1/3rd the cost of the CAA, it's well worth the new prices (and a downright bargain on the used market!)

Oh yeah, on the CAA, I had the feedback knob at noon and the whomp switch in the middle.

Do you remember the preamp tubes you used on the PV?

@Gblackie13 I don't remember for sure.  I used the stock preamp tubes in the 6505+ most of the time and if I remember right, they were EH.

I think the 6505+ sounded better. Do you still have that amp? Your clips are the best on youtube of the 6505+

Not sure if you are aware but when you get to 6 preamp tubes (6505+) the pregain is powerful and needs a noise suppressor to help the beast stay tamed.
