Aha, und Maya hat keine Karriere gemacht? o_O Sie hat schlicht und einfach eine andere Richtung eingeschlagen als Pia. Sie hat Mann und Kind, Pia nicht, die beiden haben also zwangsläufig nicht die gleichen Möglichkeiten.

Dass der Autor (ohne h übrigens ^^) und der Komponist ihre Favoriten haben, mag schon sein, aber die Rolle ist NICHT für Pia geschrieben worden, und ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass die Herren auch andere Besetzungen zu würdigen wissen.

Wien hat immer das beste Orchester. Die Instrumentalparts klingen einfach wunderbar. =)

Maya sings an As (A flat) instead of the Cis (C sharp) that Pia sings. In my sheet music of this song it says it should be As. So maybe Pia always sang that to show off her range... But they could've put that in the sheet music so more people will be able to sing it... (at least now I can) ;-)

@OliviaMG Haha the second part was just a general comment, which is strange for me to make because I saw Maya before Pia lol. I'm not sure if it's strictly an octave higher of just a fifth, but yeah, technique-wise it's still correct, I believe. I haven't heard many mezzo-sopranos so I won't really know how to classify Maya on my list of beloved female singers XD

@MillaTalonHand And concerning the one octave higher... Well, I don't know about these things, but Maya simply sounds better and effortless to me. But that's a matter of taste. =)

@MillaTalonHand I tend to agree with you. People usually like the first version of whatever song they like better than a second one. On this particular case, however, it was the contrary for me. The first version I ever heard was with Pia and it's actually the one I always listen to as it is the one I have.

@pistukita Well to be fair Pia hits the last note an octave (?) higher than Maya, so it's natural her voice gets thinner.

Generally I think most people will just prefer the Elisabeth they first watched and got used to, so the debate on who is better is pretty much moot because it's so subjective.
