Chinchilla Shoulder Trick!

One of the most popular tricks is to get your chinchilla to climb up and perch on your shoulder. It is one of the first tricks we taught our first chinchilla, Taro. The key is for your chinchilla to have trust in you, and for it to be motivated, at least during the training period.

When I got my chinchilla from petco, it would do this with the store manager, and seemed to be very close to him. It's been 3 years, and my chinchilla still will not even let me hold it. Why doesn't it let me touch it???
